Projects
It has been ages since I have “worked” on a complete new photo idea/concept of my own. I have taken plenty of photos but lack the resources to finish them right now – minor touches like framing and basic presentation. It saddens me because I use it to escape the stress of work and dive into the world of presenting my own photographic point of view.

I started making a “scrap” book of my photos from overseas. An 80 page black canvas book where I am sticking A3 sized prints into it. I showed a few friends recently and they seemed impressed. You always wonder if they just say so to please you. I guess you just have to take it for face value and be grateful for the comments.

Following on from the idea above I am going to do the same with just people/portrait shots. Mostly it will be of my friends. A book with a lasting memory of the great people I have met and know. Wouldn’t it be great to sit down when I am 60 and flick through the pages. How the fuck to keep a book that long?

My mind wonders in other directions as well. I think I have fallen back into auto mode after arriving back from overseas. I need to snap out of it and follow my own flow. Something is almost there, its grasping the final concept that seems to be the problem.

I am currently running another comp in this club. It is a fairly open theme so I am keen to see the work that will come back. Done right it has the chance to be outstanding. The hard part is motivating the members to get involved and submit work. How can I do this? Any suggestions from this crazy world of the web?

Pffft I would run a contest but no body bothers to have a go. Is this whole Journal thing just a waste of time? Are we all psoting journals without any readers. Perhaps its just me.
